Cheapest Car Insurance Study Reveals 80.4% of UK Motorists Will Drive Less Due to Increased Cost of Driving
LONDON, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In the results of a survey published today 80.4% of the 235 participants answered 'I will drive less' when asked 'How will the cost of driving - petrol, tax, etc - affect you over the next year?'.
The drivers, who were surveyed by CheapestCarInsurance.org.uk, a car insurance comparison website, had also noticed a rise in car insurance premiums, with 69.5% stating their premiums had 'Risen Dramatically' in the last 5 years.
The news shows drivers feeling the pinch despite the chancellor, George Osbourne's handout to motorists that attempted to mitigate the impact of oil price rises, and echoes research announced by the AA last week showing the average price of car insurance had leapt by 40% in the past year.
