Chem Rock's OmegaStim™ Completes 4,000th Fracking Stage
Low Cost, High Performance, Multifunctional Fluid System Marks Milestone
AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Chem Rock, a leader in stimulation chemical products and services to the oil & gas industry, is proud to announce that its premier fluid system, OmegaStim™, has successfully completed its 4,000th stage. Designed as a direct replacement for traditional cross linked and hybrid fluid systems, OmegaStim™ is the industry's first field proven, viscosity enhanced, and fully breakable slick water fluid system.
According to oilfield service company Baker Hughes, the United States has seen nine consecutive weeks of falling rig counts, with the count now at its lowest level since April 2010. As the price of crude oil continues to plunge and the industry is threatened with cutbacks, oil and gas operators are seeking solutions to cut costs without cutting production. OmegaStim™, with the performance characteristics of a cross linked fluid and the cleanliness and economic advantages of a slick water system, is increasingly being turned to as a low cost, high return solution.
"Amid falling oil prices, our clients need a way to cut costs without sacrificing performance," said Wayne Cutrer, President of Chem Rock Technologies. "OmegaStim™ is filling that void. This milestone shows that Chem Rock is committed to working with our customers to provide real solutions to their most pressing needs."
Launched in December 2013, OmegaStim™ has been successfully pumped on 4,000 stages in the DJ Basin, Permian Basin, Bakken, Haynesville Shale, Tuscaloosa Marine Shale and the Barnett Shale. OmegaStim is proprietary technology developed at Chem Rock's facility in Lafayette, Louisiana by some of the industry's most knowledgeable and experienced chemists and fluid managers.
