Chemo101.com Seeks Public Vote to Win Financial Support From Pepsi Grant
DENVER, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The public has an opportunity to vote for the funding of Chemo101, a new information-solution portal desperately needed by chemo patients, their caregivers and medical professionals. The funding for this project will be awarded by the Pepsi Refresh Project grant program in the amount of $250,000, if Chemo101 succeeds in garnering the most votes over a month period beginning Sept. 1 and ending Sept. 30.
Currently, cancer patients and their caregivers must scour the Internet across myriad websites to find bits and pieces of information on chemotherapy treatment and associated topics – a frustrating and incomplete experience. Chemo101.com promises to make this process much easier.
"Our goal is to help patients access critical information about their treatments and financial options in a simple and concise way. It's a startling fact that 35% of all cancer patients declare bankruptcy, due in part to a lack of understanding of financial implications to their care. To say this site is seriously needed is a massive understatement. My hope is the public will vote right now and vote often during the entire month of September," says Kristin Gustafson, president and founder of Chemo101.com.
Chemo101.com is the innovative and comprehensive new website that collects and provides those undergoing chemo treatment with the most up-to-date resources and information they need, all in one easy to access place online. From treatment options, drug protocols and side effects to insurance matters and other associated costs, Chemo101 sheds light on a confusing and unfamiliar process that adds to an already taxing emotional experience.
"Now with Chemo101.com, chemotherapy patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals will have their own comprehensive site from which to get the latest information on all matters related to the chemotherapy experience," says Gustafson.
Chemo101 has just been selected by Pepsi Refresh to compete in an online competition for funding, and the public's vote determines who is awarded Pepsi's generous grant. Gustafson and her associates are rallying supporters everywhere to vote for Chemo101 on the Pepsi Refresh website at www.refresheverything.com.
