Chestnut Exploration & Production Announces Successful Sidetrack of Moss Bluff #3
RICHARDSON, Texas, Nov. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark A. Plummer, Owner and Chairman of Chestnut Exploration & Production, Inc. (formerly Chestnut Petroleum, Inc.), is pleased to announce the successful sidetrack of the Moss Bluff #3 well with 100 feet of gross oil and natural gas pay zones. Chestnut tested one zone at 60 to 80 barrels of oil per day, and 400 MCF of natural gas per day. The company is now in the process of recompleting the well and testing a second oil horizon. The Moss Bluff #3 well targets the prolific Gillis – English Bayou production fairway of Calcasieu Parish, approximately 10 miles north of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
"We've had great success on our Gillis – English Bayou acreage, and this infield drilling project has exceeded our expectations," stated Plummer in early November. "We are extremely pleased with the geologic outcome of Moss Bluff #3."
