Chicago-area dealership receives unexpected surprise from thankful Philippine community

CHICAGO, March 27, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Despite the catastrophic disaster caused by Typhoon Haiyan that dismantled the lives of millions who call the Philippine Islands home, slowly but surely a normal way of life is returning to the victims. When the storm was spotted in the fall of 2013 many of the members from small communities and villages of the Philippine Islands, that were able, quickly took refuge after reports of the magnitude of the storm. Unfortunately, word traveled too slowly and many did not have the means to seek safe refuge as the massive storm obliterated villages and homes causing countless disruption, casualties and even death.

A monumental effort to help rebuild and salvage the way of life for the Philippine citizens was given from efforts all across the globe. Many people and organizations did what they could in order to aid struggling victims. Sent to the mailbox of Loeber Motors was a small hand-written note from a resident of a village where the storm had taken its toll. The letter expressed gratitude for the donations made by Loeber Motors where the money raised had a tremendous positive impact on one small village. From the funds raised, a local fishing boat was restored, a boat which is a vital lifeline for the village and is being used to help support the local economy and provide food for hungry people.
