Chicago Cares Mobilizes 5,000 Volunteers for Chicago's Largest Day of Service
PepsiCo added 332 volunteers as the lead sponsor at 32 sites across Chicago
CHICAGO, June 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicago Cares hosted its 22nd annual Serve-a-thon on June 27 as Chicago's largest day of service with more than 5,000 volunteers logging a total of 20,000 volunteer hours at 32 sites across Chicago. Leading the efforts, PepsiCo had more than 300 team members roll up their sleeves to help beautify Chicago's schools and parks, and improve the lives of seniors and students.

To date, more than 5,200 PepsiCo employees have volunteered with Chicago Cares, giving more than 26,000 hours of their own personal time.

The 5,000 volunteers who participated in the 22nd annual Serve-a-thon painted classrooms, planted trees, prepared meals for seniors, hosted interactive educational activities for kids and more at 32 locations across the city. Many volunteers also shared their experiences throughout Serve-a-thon on social media with hashtag #ImImpact.
