Chicago Cause to Donate More Than $20,000 in Services to Chicago-Area Companies

CHICAGO, July 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Three Chicago-based companies have joined to donate more than $20,000 worth of web design; video production services; social media and public relations consulting via a new initiative called Chicago Cause.  The program is spearheaded by Orbit Media Studios in partnership with Lightspan Digital and Flanigan Communications, Inc.

"Orbit has been regularly donating web design and video production to groups with which our team has affiliations, but the process has been somewhat arbitrary," says Andy Crestodina, principal and strategic director at Orbit Media. "We decided to create a formal program and promote it using our companies' combined resources to make the donation available to a broader scope of organizations. We also formed a selection committee who will base their decisions on defined criteria, including demonstrated financial need and depth of positive community impact."  

Grand prize winners will receive a fully developed web site and a marketing video, both produced by Orbit; social media training, planning and strategy by Lightspan Digital and public relations consulting from Flanigan Communications, Inc.  

All finalists are invited to a networking event hosted by Chicago Cause on Sept. 16, during which each finalist will have the opportunity to meet with the Chicago Cause team; introduce their organization to attendees and have a 30-second web video produced on-site. The winner will be notified by Oct. 1, 2010.
