Children's Book Inspires Little Girls to Discover 'Princess Traits'
PLEASANT HILL, Calif., July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Every Little Girl is a Princess by Andree Prendergast is published by CreateSpace (February 13, 2012) and is available on Amazon (http://tinyurl.com/every-girl-princess). This children's book for girls ages 5-12 sends a positive message to girls about self-discovery and acceptance, and that being a princess isn't measured by how much you have, or looking a certain way -- it's about being happy being you!
This beautifully illustrated book tells little girls that they are good enough the way they are, and that they already possess the princess traits -- faith, kindness, love, courage and friendship; they just have to discover them! Readers will learn that what is important in life is not what they have, but who they are inside, and how they treat themselves and others.
In the book, Callie is a lively eight-year-old girl who thinks she will truly be happy if only she can be a princess. Although she already has a great family and many friends, she feels sorry for herself and wishes for more, thinking that material things will be the answer to her unhappiness. She also doesn't like the dimples and red hair she sees when she looks in the mirror. One day her little dog Toby digs up a book entitled How to Become a Princess. According to the book, the secret to becoming a princess is linked to fulfilling five virtues, so Callie sets off on a quest to discover them all. Along the way she makes some great discoveries about herself.
