China GrenTech Appoints Independent Director

SHENZHEN, China, Oct. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- China GrenTech Corporation Limited (NASDAQ: GRRF, "GrenTech", or "the Company"), a leading China-based provider of radio frequency and wireless coverage products and services, today announced the appointment of Mr. Gordon Tsang Hing Lun to its Board of Directors as an independent director effective September 20, 2011.

Mr. Tsang is the Chairman of Influential Consultants Ltd. and has over 30 years of experience in wealth management, business insurance, investment banking, real estate, various high-tech industries and private equity. He is an independent non-executive Director and Chairman of the audit committees of four publicly traded companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.  In addition, Mr. Tsang has served as the Chairman of the credit committee and investment committees of publicly traded companies.  Mr. Tsang graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a First Class Honors Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 1973. Mr. Tsang obtained his Ph.D. Degree (Honorary) in 2006 and is also a member of Hong Kong Institute of Directors, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom, and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a registered Certified Financial Planner (CFP) both in Hong Kong and the PRC.
