China National Tourist Office Los Angeles Spotlights China's Rising Global MICE Allure at IMEX America 2026
With China's exhibition industry reaching record levels and international arrivals surging, the China Pavilion showcases six destinations where world-class business meets extraordinary experiences
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The China National Tourist Office (CNTO) in Los Angeles is showcasing China's growing prominence as a global destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) at IMEX America 2026, taking place Oct. 13-15 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Under the theme "China: Where Business Meets Extraordinary Experiences," the China Pavilion will bring together six distinctive destinations--Beijing, Hunan, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Sichuan and Guangxi—alongside MICE industry partners, presenting a compelling proposition for North American meeting planners, incentive travel companies and corporate decision makers.
The approximately 1,000-square-foot island showcases China's breadth of business event capabilities, from sophisticated, state-of-the-art convention facilities and international travel hotel networks to immersive cultural experiences, spectacular landscapes and customized incentive programs.
"China is entering an exciting new chapter as a destination for international meetings and incentive travel," Dawei Wu, Director of the China National Tourist Office in Los Angeles, said.
He added, "Today's meeting planners are looking beyond traditional venues. They want destinations that inspire creativity, promote meaningful connections and deliver experiences participants will remember long after the event has ended. China precisely offers this combination: world-class business infrastructure, exceptional hospitality and an extraordinary diversity of cultural and destination experiences. At IMEX America, we want North American buyers to discover the possibilities of bringing their next meeting, conference or incentive program to China."
Where Business Meets Extraordinary Experiences
China's competitive strength extends beyond its major business centers.
Beijing combines state-of-the-art international meeting facilities with the cultural and historical significance of the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. Hunan offers the dramatic limestone karsts of Zhangjiajie that have inspired Hollywood's blockbuster movie, Avatar, while Shaanxi breathes into life China's ancient civilization through Xi'an and the Terracotta Warriors.
Jiangsu offers historic waterfront water towns and refined cultural experiences. Sichuan combines cosmopolitan facilities with celebrated gastronomy, panda habitats and spectacular natural landscapes. Guangxi provides breathtaking karst scenery, serene river journeys and excellent opportunities for executive retreats and incentive programs that combine unique, rustic cultural experiences with modern amenities.
A New Opportunity for North American Meeting Planners
As global event strategies prioritize attendee engagement, cultural immersion and meaningful experiences, China offers meeting organizers the opportunity to build programs that extend well beyond the convention floor.
Advances in transportation connectivity, digital payment accessibility and international visitor services are making travel across China more convenient. Eligible travelers may also benefit from China's 240-hour visa-free transit policy, subject to nationality and itinerary requirements.
"China is not simply one destination. It is a world of possibilities for meeting and incentive planners, " Wu stated. "Our objective is to strengthen relationships with the North American travel trade, introduce buyers to new destinations and connect them with the partners and expertise needed to turn promising ideas into extraordinary programs."
Through destination presentations and business-to-business engagement, CNTO Los Angeles aims to expand China's visibility in the North American MICE market, cultivate new partnerships and encourage meeting planners to consider China for their upcoming international programs.
