China Shen Zhou Mining & Resources, Inc. Announces China Shen Zhou's Winter Production Meeting

BEIJING, Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- China Shen Zhou Mining & Resources, Inc. ("China Shen Zhou", or the "Company")(NYSE Amex: SHZ), a company engaged in the exploration, development, mining and processing of fluorite, zinc, lead, copper, and other nonferrous metals in China, today announced that China Shen Zhou's winter production meeting was held in Beijing, China on November 19, 2010.

An uninterrupted operation of winter production was decided by the Company at the meeting.

Since Inner Mongolia Xiangzhen Fluorite Processing Plant ("Xiangzhen Mine") and Xin Jiang Xingzhen Zinc Processing Plant ("Xingzhen Mine") were built, both mines had not carried out any operations in winter due to certain factors such as high cost in operations during the winter season.

After the restart of Xingzhen Mine in July 2010, production has been undertaken, and we produced qualified zinc concentrates by creating improved recovery rates and believe that this mine will be operated at full scale in the near future.

We restarted our Xiangzhen Mine in October 2010 after we solved the problem of insufficient qualified water in the processing plant. We experienced an improved recovery rate and continuity in operation. For two months, we have continuously delivered our fluorite powder to our consumers.

Based on the continuous rise in market prices of fluorite, zinc and copper, the Company's management decided to continue the operations of these two mines during the coldest period of this year and into the beginning of next year.
