China's Largest Online Alcohol Retailer Jiuxian.com Visits Watershed Premium Wines as Part of Direct Purchase Agreement
MARGARET RIVER, Australia, April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A delegation led by Hao Hongfeng, chairman of China's largest online alcohol retailer Jiuxian.com, paid a visit to Watershed Premium Wines located in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia in the afternoon of April 11, 2016. Watershed Premium Wines managing director Geoff Barrett presented the letter of authorization to Jiuxian.com.
Mr. Barrett and the vineyard's chief winemakers gave the delegation a warm reception. Mr. Hao gave a brief presentation to the vineyard's managing director on Jiuxian.com's plans for marketing the Australian wines, saying: "Australian wine is very popular among Chinese consumers and the prospects are rosy. I hope the visit will enhance our mutual understanding. We have well-established channels, while you have high-quality wine. Our cooperation will provide first-class wine services to global consumers."
As for the goal of the visit, Mr. Hao explained that consumption of wine by the Chinese public is growing rapidly. According to the latest data, both China's import volume and import value of wine jumped in 2015, serving as a testament to the huge development potential for China's wine market. In addition, wine designed for the average consumer is increasingly popular.
