ChipSiP and Zoran Corporation Announce New Multi-Memory Package with Image Processor for Compact Digital Cameras

TAIPEI, Taiwan, June 14 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- ChipSiP Technology Co. Ltd. (Taiwan: 3637), a leader in turnkey SiP (System in Package) solutions, and Zoran Corporation (Nasdaq: ZRAN), a leading global provider of digital camera processor products, today announced they have collaborated to produce a new slim package solution for the compact digital camera market that includes both multi-memory and an image processor.

Wang, Ching-shan, President of ChipSiP, said "The new packaging solution, PoP (Package on Package), we have designed with Zoran takes advantage of heterogeneous integration to deliver one gigabyte each of NAND and DDR memory along with Zoran's COACH 12 digital camera processor in a small footprint optimized for compact digital still and video cameras. This new packaging solution helps designers save space on digital camera design boards and shorten the interconnection distance between electric components, significantly improving performance. The integrated SiP structure also shortens the development cycle and helps camera system manufacturers improve time-to-market.
