Milk Moderne Features Premium Milk Chocolate Bonbons with Perfectly Paired Fillings

NEW YORK, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Dark Chocolate may be all the rage these days, but that will change after this weekend, when Chocolat Moderne New York unveils its latest creation.

Chocolat Moderne New York is launching Milk Moderne, its new milk chocolate bonbon collection, at the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade's 56th Summer Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center, from June 27 - 29. Milk Moderne places milk chocolate front and center, a spot increasingly reserved for dark chocolate, creating 12 new bonbons coated in milk chocolate.  The fillings represent a combination of flavors from classic dark chocolate assortments such as Mixe Celebre and Mixe Pastorale, in addition to brand new flavors designed for this collection.  

"It's always a pleasure to see how flavors take on new character when paired with different chocolates," says Joan Coukos Todd, Chocolatier and Founder of Chocolat Moderne. Old favorites such as "Raspberry Rendez-vous," "Banane Flambee," and "Madame 'X'tasy" are featured with milk chocolate shells.

Milk Moderne includes new flavors with local roots such as "Mint to Be," infused with fresh mint from the Union Square Green Market, and "Baby," laced with Baby Bourbon from Tuthilltown Spirits of New York's Hudson Valley. "The creamy texture and caramel notes of milk chocolate are a perfect complement to many ingredients," says Coukos Todd.

She began experimenting with milk chocolate because so many visitors to her shop were requesting it. "With Milk Moderne, I would like to attract a new audience of chocolate lovers to Chocolat Moderne, and, at the same time, inspire an appreciation and awareness of fine milk chocolate in all those who adore chocolate," said Coukos Todd.  "The explosion in demand for chocolate during the last decade has lead to better quality and more choices of chocolate in milk and white varieties, not only in dark."

Earlier this year, Coukos Todd launched the Unconditional Love assortment with all white chocolate confections. "We want to be the chocolate of choice in every category of the super premium market," she said.

Like all of Chocolat Moderne's products, Milk Moderne is all-natural.  The deep milk chocolate is around 42% cacao and represents a blend of select Valrhona couvertures.  The assortment comes in three sizes -- 12 and 24 piece signature coral boxes and a 6- piece sampler in a clear round.  After the Fancy Food Show, the collection will be immediately available at:  chocolatmoderne.com.
