Choctaw Casinos Makes Donation to Provide Relief to the Victims of the North Texas Tornadoes
$100,000 contribution to the American Red Cross will provide support in the DFW Area
DURANT, Okla., Jan. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Choctaw Casinos announces a $100,000 donation to the North Texas Region of the American Red Cross to assist people in North Texas affected by the recent tornadoes. Located north of the impacted areas, Choctaw Casinos is owned and operated by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma—the third largest Indian Tribe in the United States—made the news public today.
"The perseverance of the families and the individuals impacted by the tornadoes in North Texas is admirable," said Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Chief Gary Batton. "Choctaw Nation is rooted in a legacy of giving back and we hope that our donation to the American Red Cross will provide additional relief to our neighbors in the impacted communities."
According to the American Red Cross the funds will directly support people living in Ellis, Dallas, Collin and Rockwall counties and will help fund essential services such as shelter operations, distribution of clean-up supplies such as shovels, rakes, tarps, daily meals and snacks and casework services.
