NEW HAVEN, Conn., Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In a grand gesture, Albertus Magnus College stunned incoming Professional and Graduate Studies students who were attending their orientation at the Tagliatela Academic Center with a surprise choral flash mob. Just as students thought the orientation was moving on to the eLearning portion of the evening, the Good News Gospel Choir of Weston, Connecticut, erupted into an impromptu performance, leaving students, faculty and staff in awe.
The purpose of the unexpected concert was to debut the new Albertus Magnus College tag song. The school's tag line is "We Have Faith in Your Future." The song "We Have Faith in Your Future" is a tribute to that mantra and to all in the Albertus community. Watching the members of the choir file in, an enthusiastic Annette Bosley-Boyce, dean of Professional and Graduate Studies programs, explained, "Having faith in your future is so important to us at Albertus, that we feel we can no longer just say it; instead, we need to sing it out loud for the world to hear."
Afterwards, the surprises continued when Andrea Kovacs, vice president for marketing at Albertus, presented the choir with a check for $1,000 toward their mission. The generous gift is an example of how the Dominican Tradition encompasses the Albertus experience.
Bringing the song to life is a way for Albertus to express the pride they have in each and every one of their students and their commitment to the mentoring and opportunities they will provide during their students' experience.
