
CHOW TAI FOOK Launching Chinese Young Film Artists Supporting Fund with DC Chinese Film Festival
WASHINGTON, Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Over the past four days, the 2018 DC Chinese Film Festival (DCCFF) screened 37 outstanding documentary, narrative, experimental, and animated films created by artists of Chinese descent or featuring stories about China or Chinese culture.
Among the screenings, the documentary film Artisan produced by CHOW TAI FOOK was selected by the DCCFF spotlight screening session and won the "Excellence in Cross-Cultural Creativity Award" presented by DCCFF committee. The film records a journey of artists from both China and France that began at the Forbidden City in Beijing and led them all the way to the company's headquarters in Guangdong, China. The film was shot for ten month, and was later on being screened all around the world to enhance the Sino-French culture and art communication.
As the leader in China's jewelry industry, CHOW TAI FOOK has been committed to promoting China's jewelry to the world and promoting crossover dialogue between the jewelry industry and arts and culture world. CHOW TAI FOOK, also announced the launching of the Chinese Young Film Artists Supporting Fund to support the DC Chinese Film Festival and its outstanding Chinese filmmakers during the closing ceremony.
DCCFF is a non-profit organization dedicated to discovering outstanding Chinese cinema and encouraging cultural diversity through films. Building on the success of the festival's past six years, the 2018 DCCFF continuously focused on quality independent films that pay tribute to the brave and unique everyday lives in Chinese communities around the world. Audiences once again get to watch films that would otherwise never be seen on the big screen in D.C., such as A Young Patriot, Mrs. FANG, and Dead Pigs.
