WHAT: CIT Bank, N.A., (Member FDIC, Equal Housing Lender), its Southern California retail bank division OneWest Bank, and the University of Southern California Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement (the Murray Center) will host a breakfast to launch the Murray Center's new Financial Fitness program.
WHY: CIT has committed to provide a $1.25 million grant over five years to support the Murray Center's new Financial Fitness program. Over the course of five years, the Murray Center will partner with churches in low and moderate-income communities to train 6,000 people in personal financial management and small business development, including credit remediation, savings and investments, and homeownership. The Murray Center seeks to work with city agencies, local businesses and faith leaders to make churches into resources centers for their community's everyday needs, in addition to its spiritual needs.
