Local tax preparation firm is providing toys to more than 600 area children who otherwise might not have Christmas presents under the tree this year.
PITTSBURGH, Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Christmas just got a whole lot merrier for over 600 local children as Citi Tax Refund has announced that it will be providing them with presents this year.

Citi Tax Refund, which has no affiliation with Toys for Tots, will be purchasing the toys itself to help out parents who otherwise would not be able to purchase presents for their children on their own.
"There are a lot of families, who are out there working but don't have money to buy Christmas presents this year," said Martha Vasser, District Manager of Citi Tax Refund. "There are also families who are out of work or battling illness or other financial difficulties and we just want to give back to the community that has supported our business for the last 10 years in some small way. All children deserve to have a Merry Christmas."
Here's how the giveaway will work: Those families who registered at Citi Tax Refund will be given a specific time to pick up their bundle of toys on Dec. 12th at the firm's office at 808 Penn Ave in Downtown Pittsburgh.
"This way it will be less chaotic and everyone will be able to receive equal amount of toys," Martha said.
In addition to the toy giveaway, Citi Tax Refund is also offering two other holiday related promotions:
1. It is offering customers a 0% no fee refund advance of up to $750 when filing their taxes with the firm.
2. Also, to further help local residents pay for holiday expenses, anyone who refers a friend or family member to Citi Tax Refund will receive $100 if that person becomes a client.
