Citizens Rx offers a "PBM Transplant Program" for Employer Groups seeking to immediately replace their Pharmacy Benefit Manager by end of year
CHICAGO, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rising drug costs, member disruption, and new conflict-of-interest issues resulting from the flurry of Pharmacy Benefit Management merger activity has left employer groups scrambling to replace their PBMs with a better solution.
Immediately.
To provide immediate relief to these groups, Citizens Rx, a national Pharmacy Benefit Manager, has rolled out a national "PBM Transplant Program" that allows immediate transition from the current PBM to a comprehensive PBM offering with no member disruption, more flexibility, and with the goal of obtaining the Lowest Net Cost for its clients.
"We rolled out our PBM Transplant Program after receiving numerous requests for our services from clients who were mandated to change their PBM due to conflicts resulting from all of the major PBM acquisition activity," said Mary Ellen Mitchell, R.Ph, Citizens Rx's President. "Employer groups in many instances simply are not aware that a full-service PBM is available to immediately transition their members as a result of these emergency financial and business issues."
Mitchell said Citizens Rx "PBM Transplant Program" was designed on the following four principles:
COLLECT: Claims, Plan Design, and Payer Data to identify pain points and solutions
CONNECT: Ensuring No Disruption with Pharmacies, Medical Providers and most important, Members.
TEST: Repeatedly prior to Go-Live to Ensure Benefit Details are Accurate and Available.
EXECUTE: On-Site Transition to Our User-Friendly Platform and Member Mobile Application—in as little as 30 days.
"We have seen a large uptick in inquiries from employer groups simply cannot wait to see how the PBM merger and acquisition activity will play itself out—particularly given the unprecedented rise in specialty drugs," said Ms. Mitchell. "Equally important is aligning the business need with the assurances that your new PBM has the clinical expertise to manage those members on high-cost specialty drugs, which we do via our Clinical Member Mobile Application."
Businesses need to know that it is possible to transfer PBM platforms in a quick, effective manner in many instances, Ms. Mitchell said. "You just need to know where to look."
