City of Carlsbad Selects Velocity to Manage Critical Lawson Applications

Carlsbad is located along the southern California coastline, just north of San Diego and south of Orange County. The community of more than 100,000 is supported by nearly 1,000 City of Carlsbad employees. Staying ahead of continued growth and service demand led to the city's recent selection and implementation of Lawson Software as a more efficient system to run and manage payroll and benefit needs for its employees.

After an extensive evaluation of how to best support the Lawson implementation, Carlsbad selected Velocity for its depth of Lawson knowledge, experience supporting Lawson implementations, and their reputation as the largest Managed Application Services (MAS) provider for Lawson customers in the Public Sector. Other key factors in the selection of Velocity included a lower cost of operation, access to knowledgeable resources, mitigation of risks by providing disaster recovery, and the internal controls provided in a SAS 70 Type II facility.
