City of Charlotte Chooses Clarity Systems for Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Investment Decision-Making
TORONTO, April 29 /PRNewswire/ - Clarity Systems, a leader in corporate performance management (CPM) and external reporting solutions today announced that the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, has purchased Clarity's corporate performance management (CPM) and financial governance solutions. The City will manage its day-to-day budgeting operations and automate the production of the City's keystone report books, including the Strategic Operating Plan and Capital Investment Plan, using Clarity 7 and Clarity FSR(TM).
"It's a big responsibility ensuring that public services, including public safety, transportation options, sanitation, and street maintenance, are well-planned and well-delivered, to a population approaching three quarters of a million people over 280 square miles," said Ann White, Budget Manager, Budget & Evaluation, City of Charlotte. "So we wanted a unified and flexible solution for our budgeting, capital planning, forecasting and reporting needs. After a comprehensive evaluation of the major CPM and financial governance vendors, we selected Clarity Systems. Clarity will promote data consistency by pulling information from our multiple, disparate sources and delivering a single, reliable version to the many people working on our budget and other key documents."
Clarity 7 will improve the budgeting, capital planning, HR planning, scenario planning and forecasting capabilities of the City while Clarity FSR automates Report Book production. Clarity's MS-Excel user interface and product integration with the City's existing investments in Microsoft SQL and Analysis Services were also contributing factors to the Clarity win (also see news of a major alliance with Microsoft, issued April 8 - http://www.claritysystems.com/us/news/releases/Pages/20100329CSSSAWM.aspx).
"The public sector is rapidly discovering the advantages to managing their operations using Clarity's solutions; advantages that the private sector has already discovered," said Mark Nashman, President and CTO, Clarity Systems. "State and local governments are adopting our unified product approach to improve efficiency while simultaneously decreasing risks in these challenging economic times," added Nashman.
