City of Portland Selects AgencyWeb® CourtNotify Electronic Subpoena Solution for Multi-Agency, Multi-County Deployment

DALLAS, Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The City of Portland, Oregon has awarded a major contract to Orion Communications, Inc. for its AgencyWeb^® CourtNotify electronic subpoena management solution.  AgencyWeb^® CourtNotify will be replacing the existing Law Enforcement Court Scheduling System that is owned and operated by the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).  This legacy mainframe application is currently being used by PPB and three other agencies in Multnomah County; as well as agencies in neighboring counties.   

With Orion's AgencyWeb^® CourtNotify electronic subpoena solution, PPB and their regional partner agencies will receive electronic subpoenas from the Multnomah District Court and State Traffic Court.  The system's receipt acknowledgement capabilities will enable participating agencies to improve audit tracking and witness accountability.  Due to the system's technological architecture, it will be well positioned to support additional agencies as needed.

PPB has multiple precincts and numerous divisional, unit, and neighborhood contact offices throughout the Portland area. As a web-based system, the new AgencyWeb^® CourtNotify solution will support the required multi-agency, multi-county environment.  All participating agency users will have the ability to receive court notifications in real-time using web tools or email.  Officer's schedules will be sent to the courts for better coordination of events.  Automated escalated alerts will ensure that required agency witnesses are aware of their required attendance for scheduled cases. 

The Portland AgencyWeb^® CourtNotify project is scheduled for final completion by the end of 2014.
