CityIS, a Viju Group Company, Announces New Senior Management Appointment
NEW YORK, Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- City Information Services Incorporated (CityIS, Inc.), the global video communications company, today announced that Tom Glodowski has been named Vice President – Chief Technologist, CityIS, Inc. with immediate effect. In this role Glodowski will be responsible for providing technical leadership across the United States. Tom will be based in the New York Metro region, reporting to James de Poortere, CEO, CityIS, Inc.
Glodowski joins CityIS as a 23-year veteran of the high technology communications industry with hands-on knowledge and insights as an end customer, manufacturer, consultant and manufacturer partner. His combined 14 years of technical and executive leadership within Cisco and TANDBERG makes Tom a high-impact asset to CityIS' clients. His pragmatic approach and ability to demystify complex technologies has won him acclaim from customers and colleagues alike.
Tom has held a variety of systems engineering and consulting positions during his formative years at Cisco. From technical management to executive leadership positions, Tom's most recent position was the Senior Director of Systems Engineering with technical oversight for Cisco's $3B U.S. Service Provider business.
At TANDBERG, Tom worked within the Global Accounts Team to support the Fortune 50 global enterprise clients across multiple industry verticals. Focusing on video communications, Tom has added technical expertise in business strategy, architecture and design. Within TANDBERG's Service Provider customers, Tom's primary focus was business development, technical strategy and architecture for the TelePresence and Business Video Communications managed service offerings.
In addition to Cisco and TANDBERG, Tom also worked in key network engineering roles at General Electric and was a Managing Partner and Principal at an IP communications consulting firm that he and his partners sold in 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the Spring Garden College and a Master of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Villanova University.
