Clasma Events Announces GridWeek 2010 Conference
Largest International Smart Grid Conference Begins 4th Year with Expanded Venue and Sessions
WASHINGTON, March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington, D.C. is hosting GridWeek again this fall for the fourth year with both expanded smart grid conference programs and a new, larger venue. The program, representing the widest contingent of smart grid stakeholders, will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on October 18-21, 2010.
The four-day conference offers a broad range of experts and sessions on the smart grid's impact on the economy, the electric utility infrastructure, consumer benefits, energy alternatives and the environment.
"Building on the record breaking attendance of more than 1,500 people at GridWeek 2009 and keynotes from both Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, the 2010 conference will continue to tackle the important issues of how the smart grid will reshape our energy, environmental and economic future," said conference organizer and President of Clasma Events Anto Budiardjo.
The themes and program tracks for this year's conference will bring together a comprehensive and in-depth group of smart grid stakeholders including utility executives; city, state and federal government and regulatory officials; technology providers; academicians; standards organizations and industry associations.
The conference will host some 100 speakers covering smart grid issues and topics from "accelerating smart grid deployments," "building a smart grid infrastructure," and "broadening the smart grid landscape," to "standards for mass deployment," and "the consumer side of the meter."
GridWeek 2010 is organized by Clasma Events, in association with the U.S. Department of Energy, National Institute of Science and Technology, the Edison Electric Institute, American Public Power Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, National Electrical Manufacturers Association, National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, Electric Power Research Institute, the Utilities Telecom Council, and the Galvin Electricity Initiative.
