NEW YORK, Jan. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SiriusXM announced today that instructor Claude Harmon III will host a new series on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio (Sirius channel 208, XM channel 93).
Harmon III, one of Golf Digest's 50 Best Teachers, will make his radio debut live from the SiriusXM set at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL, on Wednesday, January 21 at 12:00 pm ET. He will be joined on set by his father, legendary instructor Butch Harmon.
The new show, which will air weekly, will showcase the unique teaching ability that has made the Harmon family name so respected throughout the golfing world. It will be dedicated to helping players at every level improve their game and listeners can call in to the show to ask questions, seek instructional tips, or discuss the headline stories from the world of golf.
"I am very excited to be a part of SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio," said Harmon III. "SiriusXM has an amazing and diverse roster of players, instructors and golf personalities. I look forward to sharing my knowledge, experiences and views on golf instruction and the world of golf."
"Claude is continuing the exceptional teaching tradition of the Harmon family. We're pleased to have him share that knowledge and expertise on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio to help our listeners improve and enjoy the game more," said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's President and Chief Content Officer. "He's a terrific addition to the channel and we're excited to have him debut next week alongside Butch at the PGA Merchandise Show."
Claude Harmon III - the director of instruction at the Butch Harmon Learning Center at the Floridian in south Florida - is in the vanguard of the new generation of golf teachers, and the Harmon family pedigree has been the perfect foundation for Claude to build his knowledge of golf instruction. He is uniquely qualified to apply "new school" teaching concepts in an "old school" fashion and his teaching philosophy and methods have delivered lower scores and better, more repeatable swings for seasoned tour players, celebrities, and amateurs of all abilities. Claude worked full time on the European Tour from 2002-2006, traveling around the world coaching some of golf's best players. His past and present students include Adam Scott, Darren Clarke, Trevor Immelman, Gary Woodland, Brooks Koepka, Peter Uihlein, Frederik Jacobson, Graeme McDowell and Ernie Els.
SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio offers the best daily golf talk, news, analysis and instruction on radio. The roster of talent on the channel features several World Golf Hall of Fame members, current and former PGA TOUR and LPGA pros, as well as several of the game's leading instructors. In addition to Harmon III, listeners get shows hosted by Ben Crenshaw, Fred Couples, Nick Faldo, Annika Sorenstam, Hubert Green, Ian Poulter, John Daly, John Mahaffey, Chris DiMarco, Natalie Gulbis, Mark Carnevale, Dennis Paulson, Hank Haney, David Leadbetter, Jim McLean, Bob Ford, Debbie Doniger, Jeff Warne, John Maginnes, Carl Paulson, Larry Rinker, Matt Adams, Brian Katrek, Lorne Rubenstein, Ben Shear, Greg Warmoth and Taylor Zarzour.
