ClearTalk Launches Additional Efforts for Reversal of Anti-Consumer Legislation

LUBBOCK, Texas, Aug. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Momentum continues to build for legislation to repeal the decision made by the U.S. Copyright Office of the Library of Congress, regarding the legality of customers "unlocking" their cell phones for use on another wireless carrier's network. West Texas-based Flat Wireless, LLC, dba ClearTalk Wireless, already on the record in support of legislation to repeal the decision, is launching a consumer rights campaign designed to get the word out in support of customer rights and fair market competition.

The congressional committee charged with evaluation of H.R. 1123: Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act, is in the final stages of delivering the bill to the House floor for vote. The bill is intended to promote consumer choice and wireless competition by permitting consumers to unlock mobile wireless devices, and for other purposes. There is similar legislation pending in the United States Senate.

Though an official date for the House vote has not been announced yet, H.R. 1123 is expected to be brought to the House floor for consideration and vote in the near future.
