Clearwater Jazz Holiday: Event Attracts Jazz World Greats and Fans

CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Now in its 31st year, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday will present, in concert between October 14 and 17, 2010, some of jazz's finest talents including Norman Brown, Dr John & the Lower 911, Soulive and Eric Darius. This year's event is presenting diversity in styles with a wide variety for the guests to enjoy. The world-class event typically attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Clearwater the third weekend in October.

Presented in downtown Clearwater's Coachman Park overlooking beautiful Clearwater Harbor, the Jazz Holiday is four days and four nights of some of the best live jazz performance presented FREE to the public. The visitor experience is complemented by the Clearwater area's mild fall weather, miles of world-famous Gulf beaches, brilliant sunsets, nearby attractions, accommodations and dining to suit every taste and budget.

One of the longest-running and best-known free live jazz events in the country, the 31st Clearwater Jazz Holiday has featured virtually every jazz luminary of our generation. Scheduled to perform this year: Jarred Armstrong, Little Feat, Dr John & The Lower 911, The Organic Trio, Kyle Wolverton, Norman Brown's Storming Jazz with Brenda Russell and Jessy J, O Som Do Jazz and The Helios Jazz Orchestra, Sean Chambers & Friends, Level 10, Tizer featuring Lao Tizer, Chiele Minucci & Karen Briggs, Soulive, Ruth Eckerd Hall / Clearwater Jazz Holiday Youth Jazz Band w/ Eric Darius, Mark Barrios, Jonathan Fritzen and Eric Darius featuring Lalah Hathaway.

Over the years, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday has also been center-stage for numerous scholarship and educational activities to benefit the music students of our community-from the blues-loving beginners to piano-playing proteges, and everyone in between.
