Climatempo Now Uploads Videos for Weather Forecast Using the Magic Link Service

SAO PAULO, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Climatempo, the largest private weather company in Brazil, and Qualcomm Services Labs, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), today announced an agreement for Climatempo to use the Magic Link™ service, which enables the delivery of multimedia in the correct format for every device and platform through its intelligent URL shortening service.  Climatempo will use the Magic Link service to upload their weather report videos for their users.

Developed by Tapioca Mobile, the assets of which were acquired in the first half of 2010 by Qualcomm Incorporated and subsequently transferred to Qualcomm Services Labs, Inc., the Magic Link service will allow Climatempo to promote their videos on social networks, without having to create individual links for each separate device or platform.  Climatempo's goal is to reach more users expeditiously, giving their video links a viral effect so that any recipient of the weather forecast content can share the same link seamlessly on Twitter, Facebook, Orkut and other social networks.

"Now, with the Magic Link service, the link will always be the same, unique URL for each video of weather forecast.  When the user clicks on the link, the Magic Link service identifies the device and delivers the video already transcoded into the format most appropriate for that one device," said Sachin Deschpande, director of product management for Qualcomm Services Labs, Inc.
