Clinicians Using EarlySense Estimated to Save Hundreds of Lives and Tens of Thousands of Hospital Days in 2015

EarlySense^®, the market leader in contact-free, health sensing and analytics, announced today year-end achievements for 2015, highlighted by key impact statistics.

In 2015, more than 84,000 patients around the world were monitored with the EarlySense Patient Monitoring System. Based on clinical data(*), it is estimated that the use of EarlySense has assisted clinicians in:

• Preventing 483 patient falls
• Preventing 2,070 pressure ulcers
• Saving 27,594 hospital days
• Saving 4,323 ICU days
• Preventing 415 Code Blue Events
• Saving 332 lives

Assuming that the financial analysis regarding cost savings published by Brigham and Women's Hospital researchers also applies, it is assumed that globally, healthcare facilities were able to save $18M in 2015.

In 2015, EarlySense signed dozens of new customer facilities, including a VA Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Center, which has been using EarlySense for more than one year, and has seen an 80% reduction in mortality following a 60% reduction of Code Blue activations.

This year, the company received regulatory clearance in South Korea and Canada.  It also entered into partnerships with Mitsui to expand its presence in Japan and Custom Medical Solutions to increase its use in long term/home care facilities in the U.S. Most recently, the company entered into a co-marketing agreement with Herman-Miller Nemschoff that allows the first integrated chair with EarlySense sensors to be available in the market.

2015 also marked EarlySense's entry into the consumer wellness category, with the launch of its OEM solution, myEarlySense. The technology has already been incorporated into Samsung's SleepSense, Beurer's SE 80 Sleep Expert and the

iFit Sleep System.
