Clinton Global Initiative Recognizes ACS Energy Advisors - Worldwater & Solar Technologies' Commitment in Using Solar Energy to Deliver Clean Water to Pakistan Flood Survivors
NEW YORK, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At the opening Plenary Session of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), President William Jefferson Clinton recognized the commitment of ACS Energy Advisors, in partnership with WorldWater & Solar Technologies, Inc. [WWST], to bring clean water and reliable power to survivors of the 2010 Pakistan floods. President Clinton emphasized how the technology and project proposed by ACS Energy Advisors and WWST embodies the goals of CGI; devising and implementing innovative, technological, and green solutions to the world's most pressing challenges.
Millions of people in Pakistan have no access to clean water, and 3.5 million children are exposed to water borne diseases. The floods have washed away homes, clinics, schools and basic infrastructure. Using solar powered water purification systems known as Mobile MaxPure® [MMP], these companies will deliver clean drinking water and power to thousands of people currently without it.
Alexandra C. Stanton, CEO of ACS Energy Advisors, explained, "Solar energy can reliably and economically provide power and potable water through the construct of a self-contained and easy to use platform. It is a critical and relevant tool in disaster preparedness or response, in humanitarian and development projects, and anywhere traditional infrastructure is compromised, unreliable or non existent. The Mobile MaxPure® is field-proven with an embedded base in many regions of the world. This technology has saved lives, money, and heartache."
Each MMP provides 30,000 gallons of clean drinkable water a day, under every weather condition. The MMP is self-contained and provides immediate and distributed infrastructure solutions in a 7-foot cube with a 25 year life span, able to be trucked, shipped or slingloaded and airlifted to virtually any location in the world.
Established in 2005 by President William Jefferson Clinton, CGI convenes global leaders to devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges. CGI's Annual Meetings have brought together more than 125 current and former heads of state, 15 Nobel Peace Prize laureates, hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations, major philanthropists, directors of the most effective nongovernmental organizations, and prominent members of the media.
