Close-Up TV News Recognizes Women's Integrated Healthcare
GRAPEVINE, Texas, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Close-Up TV News recognizes Women's Integrated Healthcare for its unique commitment to personalized care in obstetrics and gynecology.
Founded by Dr. Angela Cope and Dr. Barbara Coulter-Smith, Women's Integrated Healthcare was established not only to provide good medicine but also an environment that benefits both patient and physician.
"We're not very traditional," says Dr. Cope, "especially with respect to our philosophies and how we've built the practice to what it is today."
Since 2001, the practice has treated over 30,000 patients. Those numbers are a testament to the type of medicine they practice and a philosophy toward care that embraces collaboration. Women's Integrated Healthcare is a highly collaborative practice; each patient belongs to a group comprised of their doctor, a nurse and a medical assistant for the duration of their care. In the event a patient's doctor is out one of the practice's other doctors can easily step in.
"Between the six of us the entire specialty is covered as passionately and knowledgeably as possible," says Dr. Courtney Walters. "I tell my patients, you get six doctors for the price of one."
A progressive practice, Women's Integrated Healthcare has embraced a number of new procedures and technologies to deliver quality care. Many of Women's Integrated Healthcare's procedures can be done in the office, including tubal ligations and endometrial ablations.
Women's Integrated Healthcare also offers the Essure procedure. The Essure is most similar to a vasectomy for a man in that it sterilizes the woman permanently. Prior to Essure women would typically have their tubes tied, an invasive procedure performed in a hospital setting under general anesthesia with many potential complications. The Essure is a 10-minute procedure that scars the tubes shut. After that patients are able to rely on that for their contraception.
"It's reassuring for our patients to know they're being taken care of by a group of people who all have their best interests at heart," says Dr. Cope. "We all practice similarly and share similar goals for our patients."
