Coach Joe Wang Named Head Football Coach Of Team China
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Coach Joe Wang of El Segundo, California has been appointed Head Coach & General Manager of the 2016 American Football National team of FUSC (Federation of University Sports of China) also known as "Team China". Team China is comprised of Chinese college football all-stars representing eight Chinese Universities. The team will be competing in the FISU 2016 World University American Football Championship in Monterrey, Mexico, to be held June 1st through the 12th, 2016.
It is anticipated that Team China will be competing against college football National teams from Mexico, Japan, American Samoa, Sweden, Finland, Canada, and Korea.
About Coach Joe Wang:
Coach Wang, who is known as the Ambassador to the American football sport in China, developed and coached the first Chinese University football team at Beijing international University in 2011. Since then Coach Wang, co-founder of American Football Union (AFU), has developed eight Chinese University teams. In 2012, Coach Wang organized the first Chinese University tackle football exhibition game at Harbin University of Commerce, which drew 28,000 students in attendance.
Coach Wang was engaged by the National Football League (NFL China) to lead and train Chinese Coaches in the first ever NFL Experience. The NFL Experience duplicated segments of the NFL combine, with eighteen events focusing on speed, strength, and agility. The event was held in the cities of Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou, China, with over 10,000 fans in attendance.
Coach Wang is a former NFL Combine Coach, founder of South Bay Football League, and author of "Joe Wang's Code to Unleashing Your Inner Coach". Coach Wang is the grandson of China's 1936 Olympic soccer team captain, Sho Fong Wang. Coach Wang was a starting linebacker on his high school state championship football team.
