Coastal States Automotive Group Purchases Volkswagen Dealership in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga., July 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Coastal States Automotive Group President and CEO Warner Peacock has announced another new acquisition. The company purchased the Volkswagen franchise in Savannah, Ga., on July 7, 2015.

The new Savannah Volkswagen is located on Abercorn and Eisenhower Drive, at the site of the former Vaden Volkswagen and Signature Used Cars. Coastal States Automotive Group also purchased the land and facilities located on Abercorn Street and Eisenhower Drive, and bordering White Bluff Road to the west. There is ample land for the VW franchise and one or two other franchises.

In a related transaction, Coastal States Automotive Group has sold the assets and franchises of Hilton Head Nissan and Hilton Head Infiniti to Vaden Automotive Group. Vaden will lease those two facilities at the New River Auto Mall, and operate those two dealerships, but will move both franchises to another location on Highway 278 within 18-24 months. At that time, Coastal States Automotive Group will construct a new Audi facility at the current location of Infiniti, and evaluate alternative uses for the current Nissan facility.

Savannah Volkswagen will employ 30 people. Coastal States Automotive Group employs almost 600 people in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Coastal States Automotive Group, LLC (formerly New River Auto Mall, LLC) owns Hilton Head Hyundai, Audi Hilton Head, Hilton Head Volkswagen, Porsche of Hilton Head, Subaru of Hilton Head, Jaguar Land Rover Hilton Head, Hilton Head Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/Ram, all in the Hilton Head, S.C., area; Savannah Volkswagen; and Jaguar Land Rover Columbia in Columbia, S.C.  Coastal States Automotive Group, LLC, also just purchased Subaru South Orlando, which also includes a Collision Center, on May 18 in Orlando, Fla. A $1.5 million renovation is planned this year to provide even more improvements to the relatively new facilities.

In addition to vehicle sales and service offered at its dealerships, Coastal States Automotive Group features the state-of-the-art New River Auto Mall Collision Center that provides car and truck collision repair and paint for all brands, including aluminum body vehicles. The company also opened the New River Wellness Institute in May 2014, which is a full-service physical therapy, fitness and wellness facility. Both are located in the Hilton Head area of South Carolina.

The company also owns Coastal States Insurance Agency, an Allstate Insurance Agency located in South Carolina that is expanding into Orlando next month. It has become an industry leader in the year since its inception.

Coastal States Automotive Group plans to expand with the acquisition of other dealerships in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and potentially North Carolina.

Coastal States Automotive Group shareholders, in addition to President and CEO Warner Peacock, include retail automotive industry icon Don Mealey, future Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey, Jr, and prominent Orlando attorneys Greg Humphries and Jay Brennan.

Coastal States Automotive Group's corporate offices are located at the New River Auto Mall on Highway 278, 4 minutes east of I-95 at Exit 8.
