HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors and executive management of CoastalSouth Bancshares, Inc. ("CoastalSouth Bancshares") are pleased to announce the expansion of the Board of Directors with the additions of Ray Quinlan, Jim Hodges, Lee McCollum and to the management team with the addition of Charlie Christy, who joins this organization as Chief Financial Officer.  All bring a wealth of experiences to the team.

Ray Quinlan will serve as Executive Chairman of CoastalSouth Bancshares and as a Director of its bank subsidiary, CoastalStates Bank. Quinlan joins after a long career at Citigroup, Inc. where his last position was Chairman and CEO of Retail Distribution -- North America.

Jim Hodges will serve as a director of CoastalSouth Bancshares.  Hodges served as Governor of South Carolina from 1999 to 2003 and is currently a Senior Advisor to McGuire Woods Consulting, LLC and a partner of McGuire Woods LLP.  Governor Hodges brings a vast background of attracting businesses to South Carolina and his knowledge of, and experience in, governance will be most advantageous.

Lee McCollum will serve as a director of CoastalSouth Bancshares.  He is a retired former Executive Vice President of S.C. Johnson & Son, having served as Chief Financial Officer from 1997 until 2009, and he brings valuable financial expertise, including significant experience with capital markets transactions, to the organization.

Additionally, CoastalStates Bank continues to attract new talent to the executive management team with the addition of Charlie Christy as the Chief Financial Officer.  Christy comes from Citizens Republic Bancorp, Inc., a publicly traded $12 billion bank in Michigan, where he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administration Officer for almost eight years. Christy also spent twelve years (1991-2002) with Bank One serving in many CFO and Treasurer positions. Christy brings extensive experience in acquisitions, integration and bank turnarounds, as well as a strong reputation with the bank investor community.
