Codeup Appoints Kay Jones as New CEO
Former Racker Becomes First Female CEO of a Geekdom-Born Startup
SAN ANTONIO, May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Codeup, a San Antonio-based career accelerator that prepares people for a career as a software developer, today announced that it has appointed Kay Jones as its CEO. In this role, Ms. Jones will be responsible for developing and leading Codeup's growth initiatives. These include expanding Codeup's geographic reach, ongoing curriculum development, employer outreach and community relations.

Prior to Codeup, Ms. Jones served in a variety of technical management roles at Rackspace, the Managed Cloud Company. Most recently, Ms. Jones was responsible for Workforce Planning and Organization Development within the Engine Room Department of Rackspace. She developed processes, tools and frameworks to assist Rackspace's globally-distributed management team in improving outcomes for over 2,500 of Rackspace's employees.
