Coghlin Companies Hold Record-Breaking United Way Campaign

WORCESTER, Mass., June 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Coghlin Companies, Inc. associates have shown they "Live United" by holding a record-breaking campaign for the United Way. The three week fundraising drive resulted in many more associates contributing this year than in the previous 10 campaigns hosted by the company, which increased the total dollars raised by more than 35% over the 2012 campaign. Over the past five years, the Coghlin Companies have contributed more than $250,000 to the United Way of Central Massachusetts through associate, family, and corporate donations.

"We had a fantastic campaign," said Jim Coghlin, Jr., a former United Way of Central Massachusetts chairperson, who still serves on the board. "This is a true testament to our associates; walking the talk that giving back to the community remains a core value of the Coghlin Companies." The Coghlin Companies, a leader in contract manufacturing, support the campaign by bringing in speakers from United Water organizations, holding raffles, and awarding prizes. "Hopefully people are motivated to give for the cause alone, but a little fun can help motivate, too," said Coghlin.

As Coghlin Companies services have expanded over the past 126 years to include prototype development, product development, and medical device manufacturing, members of the Coghlin family have supported the United Way with dollars as well as time. There have been three generations of the Coghlin family who have chaired the overall campaign for the United Way of Central Massachusetts. Involvement with the United Way allows Coghlin to have a full circle perspective of the annual campaigns. "I have the opportunity to have a voice in seeing where the resources go," said Coghlin. "Our associates can be confident their dollars are going to solid organizations which are generating results. We're looking out for them."
