Cold Brew Kitchen announces SFA membership, New Cold Brew offering
MEDFORD, Ore., May 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- When Jackie Ardrey left her post as a senior merchandising executive at Harry & David last year to start Cold Brew Kitchen, she never guessed how much fun it would be.
"I believe there is a need in the market for this product, because cold brew has become a growing part of the coffee industry, but there has yet to be a good solution for home brewing until now," Ardrey said. "The success we've had both in direct to consumer sales and the growing demand for wholesale has been incredible to watch. I'm excited to open my inbox each morning and see who wants to buy."
Cold Brew Kitchen has been accepted for membership in the Specialty Food Association, and plans to exhibit in upcoming Fancy Food Shows. The ground coffee line specially curated for home cold brewing debuted in August of 2015, and already has been re-sourced to meet growing demand.
Ardrey is engaging with veteran coffee expert, Roastmaster and former Specialty Coffee Association of America President Paul Thornton to develop a proprietary blend that will debut at the show. "Paul is a great partner. No one knows more about the coffee industry than he does, and I'm fortunate to be able to consult with him to ensure a balanced, quality product that both new and established home cold brew lovers enjoy," Ardrey said.
Cold brew coffee is a growing trend. Praised for its smooth taste, it has also gained the attention of the medical community. The brewing method, which requires ground coffee to steep for 12-24 hours, results in a rich, acid reduced coffee that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
