The contest, which sheds light and provides financial aid on charitable work in US communities, has awarded each of LuLu's Rescue of Point Pleasant, PA; Backpack Buddies of Milwaukie, OR; and Hannah's Home of Mentor, OH with $1,000 to assist with their respective missions which includes establishing spay and neuter programs in low income areas, providing weekend meals to students in need and housing single, pregnant young women through the age of 25.

All three charities received over 1,000 votes to edge out competitors during each one-month round of the online contest. Every month, Cold-EEZE® fans are encouraged to log on to www.Facebook.com/ColdEEZE  to nominate their favorite charity to compete in the "Share Your Cause Not Your Cold" campaign. The nominations are narrowed down to just five which are then voted on by Facebook fans for a chance to win the $1,000 prize. One winner will be selected every month until the contest closes in February 2013.

About Backpack Buddies

The Backpack Buddy program provides two meals to hungry students each weekend. Organizers are grateful to several new funding providers who are helping the program create cooperative relationships that mean more students will be fed. There are a total of 20 schools and two Head Start locations with students in need. So far, the program has been able to help out all or some of the students at all schools and both Head Start locations.
