EUGENE, Ore., Aug. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources, has published a ranking of the 24 Best Colleges in Oklahoma.
While tuition rates are skyrocketing around the country, Oklahoma's state system of higher education has only increased its rates 4.5 percent during the same time. In fact, the average cost of an Oklahoma four-year public institution is third-lowest in the country, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. Additionally, Oklahoma has invested in its students through a structure called The Education Pipeline, a system that was designed to ensure students pass successfully from high school to college, and then onwards into fruitful employment.
"The state of Oklahoma is a competitive place to get a college education," Alyssa Koh, Managing Editor of College Choice, said of the ranking. "From the affordable prices, to the student-centered policies of the state educational authorities, this is a place where college students can thrive."
College Choice developed its list by looking at academic quality, institutional reputation, program accreditation, along with return on investment—the differential between tuition costs and average early career earnings. Data came from the National Center for Education Statistics, Payscale, OKHigherEd, OKcollegestart, and U.S. News & World Report.
