College of Mental Health Counselling Qualifies For Professional Liability Insurance
Members of the College of Mental Health Counselling are qualified for Professional Liability Insurance coverage.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- "This is a great achievement for the College and for its members," says Daniel Keeran, MSW, President.
The College of Mental Health Counselling, based in Victoria, BC and operating since 1985, provides training and supervision for personal growth and for anyone wanting to enter the counselling profession.
"Having Professional Liability Insurance will open more doors for members to obtain employment in the counselling field and to be approved for contracts to provide counselling services in their communities," says Keeran.
Registration can be completed online here http://www.ctihalifax.com Tuition is set at a very low affordable level, and scholarships are available for applicants in financial need.
Student comments and testimonials can be reviewed here https://app.box.com/s/2wm3ex70tawbcrseqygs
After the initial course, students may begin a one-year period of supervision directly from the College by submitting video segments of counselling sessions or by emailing transcripts of sessions for review and feedback on counselling style and approaches. Alternatively, students may be supervised by an experienced counsellor within a local organization. The insurance will cover students during the period of supervision and thereafter.
Depending on their level of training and experience, members are classified as Intern Counsellors, Full Counsellors, and Supervising Counsellors. The Professional Liability Insurance is very affordable with an annual premium of under $150.
Keeran adds, "The initial required Mental Health Counsellor Training Course is also helpful for personal development or self-improvement, and many students register for that purpose alone with no intention of becoming professional counsellors."
Successful completion of course requirements results in the Certificate of Mental Health Counselling and Therapy. Additional specialized courses may be selected.
The College also publishes a practical reader-friendly training manual, How To Do Professional Mental Health Counselling, which is the primary reference for members and is provided with tuition. The hard copy is located here http://www.amazon.com/How-Professional-Mental-Health-Counseling/dp/0969415583 and a PDF full-text version is available at a reduced cost https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=HPX7T2AJB75WC
