HALIFAX, June 26, 2012 /CNW/ - Collins Barrow Nova Scotia Managing Partner, Grant Galbraith, was recently elected as Vice-President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia (ICANS). Within this role, he will work to protect public interest in public accounting and to ensure the membership needs of chartered accountants in Nova Scotia are met.
"This is an extremely interesting time for the profession as we address unification of the accounting bodies in Canada and face numerous other pressures for change. It's exciting to be part of the decision making process," says Grant, whose previous ICANS experience includes terms as Secretary and Treasurer. "I am honoured to serve in this role; further representing my firm, Collins Barrow Nova Scotia, in its commitment to the accounting industry."
