Colo5 Completes Recertification For SSAE 16 Compliance
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Colo5, LLC, a leading independent data center operator headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, announced the successful recertification of its Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16. The audit was conducted by Harrell & Widener, LLC; a full service accounting firm providing SSAE 16 audits. Harrell & Widener, LLC evaluated Colo5's design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and processes.
"It is critical to our operations to continue to adhere to the highest standards of security and compliance for our clients' sensitive data," said Colo5 Chief Operating Officer, Rochelle Price. "At Colo5, we hold ourselves to the upmost levels of quality and service and it is important for these to be recognized by a licensed CPA firm, like Harrell & Widener, LLC."
SSAE 16 supersedes the previous standard, SAS70 Type II, to keep abreast with the changes in regulatory compliance for service organizations. The SSAE 16 attestation is a rigorous inspection of the controls and safeguards a company has put in place to manage and secure its clients' data. The process of compliance requires independent third party verification by a licensed CPA firm as to whether these controls and safeguards put in place by the company are operating effectively over a designated period of time.
"Maintaining industry standard levels of service is always a top priority for Colo5. As we continue to experience unprecedented growth and expansion into other markets the quality of service continues to be even more important to be viewed as a top quality, dependable colocation provider," said Colo5 COO, Rochelle Price.
Completion of the SSAE 16 recertification allows Colo5 to continue to service clients who are required to meet PCI, SEC or HIPAA requirements. The recertification is a critical compliance to such organizations that require the highest security and technological standards.
