Colorado State University Global Principal Licensure Program Fully Authorized by the State of Colorado

It is the only 100% online, asynchronous principal licensure program authorized by the State.

DENVER, May 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Colorado State University Global (CSU Global) today announced that its online Graduate Certificate in Education Leadership-Principal Licensure became fully reauthorized by the State of Colorado. The program is the only 100% online, asynchronous program of its kind to be authorized by the State, providing an accessible option for educators who need the flexibility to accommodate their busy schedules while gaining the necessary credential to become a principal.

Signaling the University's commitment to helping educators in Colorado advance their careers, the program prepares learners with the necessary skills and knowledge for an assistant principal or principal role at elementary, middle, or high schools. Educators gain the tools needed to coordinate daily school activities, oversee curricula, and maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

Aligned with the Colorado Principal Quality and the Colorado English Learner Standards, the program includes an embedded internship experience and coursework in strategic leadership, instructional leadership, school culture and equity leadership, human resources, managerial leadership, and external development leadership. As part of the reauthorization, as of CSU Global's Spring B 2025 term that began on April 14, students of the program who complete both the University's coursework and the Colorado Department of Education's READ Act training for principals/administrators will meet State licensure requirements.
