Colossal Squid Industries Boosts Staff to Support Growing Client Roster

CHICAGO, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Colossal Squid Industries, the Chicago-based independent digital creative agency, recently announced key senior account service staff appointments to support the agency's significant growth across a variety of key clients.

Christina Downey was named Account Director, a new position reporting to Colossal Squid co-founders Patrick Berry and Steve Slivka.

Downey will be responsible for leading digital strategy and program development for the agency's Kimberly-Clark business.  She comes to Colossal Squid from Alcone Marketing where she served as an account director working on brands including Laughing Cow Cheese, Kaukauna and Zatarain's.  Prior to that, she held positions at Ryan Partnership, Cramer-Krasselt, Frankel, FCB and Jordan McGrath.  

Downey was part of the team who won a Reggie award in 2009 for Bel Brand's Mini Babybel as well as Media Plan of the Year for FILA.  She earned a BS from Michigan State.

Sandy Jachs was named Account Director, a new position also reporting to Colossal Squid co-founders Patrick Berry and Steve Slivka.

Jachs will lead the account teams on several client brands including Alberto Culver's TRESemme and NeXXus brands along with Sears/Kmart. She joins the agency from Razorfish where she was an account director working on Kraft Foods brands including RITZ Crackers, Chips Ahoy!, and Athenos. Previously she served as an account director at Wirestone and client director at JWT.

Jachs has been honored by numerous industry award programs including: the OMMA Awards, Interactive Advertising Competition, Communicator Awards, Horizon Interactive Awards, Ogilvy Awards, and the Effies. She graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana.

Since its founding, Colossal Squid Industries has experienced fast-paced growth.  The company has created digital strategies and work for leading national advertisers including Coke, Johnson Controls, Dove, Sears, Microsoft, Kimberly-Clark and OfficeMax.
