COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Columbus Urban League announced today that its President and CEO Eddie Harrell, Jr. will be leaving, effective June 1, 2011, to become the Vice President and General Manager of Radio One, Inc.'s three Columbus radio stations.
Mr. Harrell, who has been President and CEO of the Columbus Urban League for the past five years, has worked tirelessly to advance its mission of empowering African Americans and disadvantaged persons and families with life-changing strategies to reach and maintain self-reliance, opportunity and civil rights. "The Columbus Urban League and the community it serves have benefited tremendously from Eddie's leadership during this period and we are in a much better position today than when he arrived," said its Board President John M. Stephen.
"Although the CUL Board and Staff are truly sorry to lose Eddie and his talents, we are pleased that he is remaining in our community and joining such a fine organization.
