EL SEGUNDO, CA, Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - COM DEV USA, LLC, a subsidiary of COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX: CDV), today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems to supply equipment for use in the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) program. The contract is valued at approximately US$5 million, and covers the tenth flight set for WGS, a U.S. military communications satellite program. COM DEV USA will be providing switches, filters, multiplexers, and ferrite devices.
This is a follow-on order for COM DEV USA, which has successfully delivered hardware for six satellites and is currently in production on WGS flight sets 7, 8 and 9. Work on the contract will be carried out at the Company's facilities in El Segundo, California with completion expected during the Company's 2013 and 2014 fiscal years.

WGS is the U.S. Department of Defense's highest-capacity communications satellite system. Each satellite provides more than 10 times the communications capacity of the prior Defense Satellite Communications System constellation. WGS provides essential communications services, allowing Combatant Commanders to exert command and control of their tactical forces.
