OSLO, Norway, Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Comperio, a global leader in delivering search solutions, today announced that it has joined the Microsoft Big Data Incubation Program.
"Comperio is excited to be working with Microsoft Corp. to deliver world-class big data solutions to enterprises," said Comperio CEO, Jorn Ellefsen. Comperio has deep experience with the Microsoft platform, building enterprise search solutions and leveraging the whole spectrum of data types and sources. Comperio harnesses ever-growing volumes of structured, unstructured and real-time data and connects them to business processes and people, resulting in meaningful insights for users.
"Our business-centric approach means the value of the solution can be realized by everyone, not just BI experts and data scientists. Ordinary employees can find the actionable insights they need, without having to trawl through all the noise. As a result employees achieve greater business impact, generating considerable gains on an organizational-level," concluded Ellefsen.
Comperio has been chosen by Microsoft to participate in its Big Data Partner Incubation Program. This global program is designed to help customers adopt HDInsight, Microsoft's Apache-compatible Hadoop distribution. The enterprise-ready service empowers organizations by providing new insights on previously untouched unstructured data, while connecting to the most widely used Business Intelligence (BI) and enterprise search tools.
Leading analyst Gartner called out big data as one of the Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2013. Big data has already been a driving force behind IT spending, but the impact is set to grow, and this year, CIOs in enterprise organizations are pursuing big data strategies to gain their company a competitive advantage based on insights from their own customer data. According to Gartner, big data spend is set to grow to $34 billion in 2013, and it is estimated that in total businesses will spend at least $232 billion by 2016.
"HDInsight enables customers to obtain valuable insight from structured and unstructured data," said Bob Baker, Director, Microsoft Server and Tools Marketing. "By working closely with key data management and enterprise search specialists such as Comperio, Microsoft can provide customers with a valuable combination of innovative technology and world-class services delivery. We are pleased to be working with Comperio on this latest offering and believe they are well placed to help customers unlock the true value of big data."
