Comprehensive Guide to Self-Publishing to Be Released Mid-Year
The Association of Independent Authors, a global organization representing the interests of independent (self-published) authors, is set to release a comprehensive guide to self-publishing written by experts in the field of marketing, design, public relations, publishing and more with lessons learned from authors
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- A comprehensive guide to self-publishing is being prepared by the Association of Independent Authors (AiA). Experts in their respective fields have submitted articles on all aspects of self-publishing on topics such as editing, design, marketing, public relations, sales, legal and accounting issues plus articles from authors on their lessons learned. The guide will be released as an e-book under the AiA banner mid-2012.
"We are really pleased with the amount and quality of articles that have been pouring in," says Melanie Walsh, AiA's Director of Membership Services. "We expect this compilation e-book will be an ultimate source of information for authors looking to self-publish. It will be updated every two years."
Recent changes in the publishing industry, including advances in technology and accessibility to global markets, have not only created unlimited opportunities for authors to take control of their own writing careers, but have generated an increase in the number of businesses offering services to independent authors, some of which are recipients of the AiA's Honoring Excellence award.
"One of the primary roles of the AiA is to provide a comprehensive resource for everything related to self-publishing and independent authorship," says Walsh. "Our last initiative was to launch the Authors Resource Guide, which is a directory of individuals, businesses and companies offering services and products specifically of benefit to independent authors. We are also in the process of compiling a list of the best websites for independent authors."
