Connect Florida Launches First-of-its-Kind Statewide Leadership Institute for Young Professionals
Partners with two Florida universities to present inaugural program: Jacksonville University and Barry University
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., March 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Connect Florida is proud to introduce the Connect Florida Statewide Leadership Institute, a unique Florida-wide leadership development program to cultivate Florida's next generation of leadership, those currently between the ages of 21 and 35. This is the first program of its kind nationally.
Seeking the top young professionals from throughout the state, Connect Florida is partnering with top universities throughout the state to facilitate the following sessions:
- Jacksonville University: Putting Leadership Theory into Action -- Facilitated and Hosted by Jacksonville University, participants will get an in-depth leadership assessment, capped by the development of implementation steps for a 1 - 10 year personal and professional leadership plan.
- Leadership Florida: Know Your State -- Facilitated by Leadership Florida, participants will engage with statewide experts from Florida in dialogue on topics affecting the state, including tourism, energy, water management and government.
- Barry University: Making an Impact --Facilitated and Hosted by Barry University, attendees will learn the roles and responsibilities of serving on a non-profit board, how to get involved in the governmental process and how to 'make and create change and talk the talk -- public speaking.'

The Institute programming is structured into three weekend-long sessions over an eight month period, with an online collaboration component supplementing face-to-face meetings. It will provide young professionals with an opportunity to advance their personal and professional talents, and their leadership skills, to the next level. The Institute strives to include young professionals from all sectors, as well as geographic areas, of Florida.
